  • After a debut session of Axis and Allies 1914, comes initial thoughts about the strategies required and opinions how some of the mechanics fared to our expectations. World War II strategies don’t work well, not even your some of your favorites.

I just bought Axis and Allies 1914 and have not played it yet. It seems to be a good game but, I was disappointed to see there are only 15 new sculpts in the game. 8 different infantry, 1 for each country but all the other sculpts are the same for each country. In the advertising and even on the box, it is claimed there are 22 new sculpts in the game. I assume the Central Powers were supposed to have different sculpts for their Tanks, Planes, Artillery and ships. If that were the case, that would have made 22 new sculpts.

  • Hi I’m having some problems with the way the tanks work in axis and allies 1914. I understand that tanks attack at 2 and defend at 1, tanks get a promotion to attack at 3 when you match 1to1 with artillery. What I don’t understand is say if you are the attacker and I am the defender. You attack me with 4 tanks and 1 infantry and I as the defender have 3 infantry and 1 artillery you roll 5 die get no hits, I defend, I roll 4 die score 4 hits. How can I defend if your tank absorb all my hits?
