Like Olaf, we’re really big fans of summer, which is why “Olaf in Summer” birthday cakes appeal to us so much. Out of all the Frozen celebration cakes, these are perhaps our favourites, because of the cheerful colour schemes, the happy smiles, the flowers and the fun! These cakes appeal to girl- and and can be used to cheer up a winter day, or compliment a summer BBQ party.
Olaf in Summer Birthday Party
The party was for the sweetest little lady Makila who turned 6 this week! They went with a lime green, turquoise, and purple for the colors. I added a little pink to make it a little more girly! But this party decor could definitely be used for a girl or boy!
It was fun... I love the frozen! This is actually just the treat table. I set up a mock one in my spare bedroom because I wasn't going to be able to make it to the party but I was making all the treats and really wanted to take good pictures of everything :)
I made the cake, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, and dipped the strawberries. Originally I had planned on making a rice krispy Olaf rather than a cake... But I decided to make a cake instead since I was going to use the cupcake tower to save space. I think it turned out pretty cute :)
The cake was white with buttercream, covered in fondant, and fondant decorations. I did the cupcakes strawberry with buttercream and fondant decorations.
The cake pops were chocolate, covered in candy coating and sugar sprinkles. I wanted to make them green, blue, and purple... But the purple clumped up and I couldn't use it :/ I used white instead with sugar sprinkles and colored sprinkles... I think they turned out ok.
The "melted Olaf" cookies were super fun to make! It was my first time to cut out by hand instead of using a cookie cutter (for his head), it wasn't too bad just a little more time consuming. They looked nothing like Olaf until I added the nose lol! I used my favorite roll out sugar cookie recipe and plan ol' royal icing.
The strawberries were just dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with sugar to make the "frozen hearts". I also did baby carrots "Olaf noses".
I made the place cards, pictures, and banner using a app I have called captions PM and printed them on card stock.
I made the sun, clouds, and flowers using tissue paper. I used plastic table cloths for the backdrop and table cover. I spent maybe $10 on the decorations and some of my free time at work.
Hope you all enjoy the Olaf in Summer party table! I will be doing a full on Frozen party in December I'm really looking forward to!!! Thanks for checking out my party!
